TV Director

JOB SUMMARY

• The Director/Producer uses his/her creative skills to direct live events for on-television productions.
• The Director/Producer serves as the lead field position, coordinating the work done by the production crew during sporting events and original programming.
• The Director/Producer uses excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain a good rapport with the production crew and on-site personnel (i.e., Athletic Directors, School Officials, etc.).
• The Director/Producer reports directly to the Production Manager and has no direct reports.
• While at events, the Director/Producer leads, oversees, and assigns activities to the production crew.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Director/Producer:

• Sets up each event (equipment placement and staff assignments);
• Meets with production crew before events to establish creative direction;
• Produces TV worthy presentations that meet or exceed MSSN standards;
• Strikes after each event and supervises equipment return into production unit;
• Informs Production Manager of crew and technical issues;
• Performs ENG shoots, video editing, and special projects/program productions;
• Follows and enforces the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety, at all times;
• Performs miscellaneous department duties as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent – required
• Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV, Communications, or related field; or the equivalent combination of relevant education and/or practical work experience – required
• Minimum of 2 years of previous related professional experience – required
• Minimum of 1 year of previous leadership experience – preferred
