We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager at our Corporate Headquarters in Sterling Heights, MI. The HR Manager is responsible for overall HR functions including employee relations, strategic planning, salary administration, people development, compliance, communication, coordination of HR services, leadership development, and performance management. The position will work closely with manufacturing on workforce planning and other Company initiatives. The Human Resources position will be supported by the Manufacturing Manager and Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an open-door policy and create communication plans to keep employees informed.
- Responsible for leading Safety and Compliance Programs. Mayco is founded on a safe place to work.
- Responsible for overseeing the HR department in the administration of payroll.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and regulations affecting human resources.
- Recruits, interviews, screens, and selects employees to fill open positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive Company Culture.
- Responsible for administering hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for reporting.
- Lead Work Life Team and Community Involvement.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
- Orientates and administers benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, 401(k), vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Maintain processes to ensure the effective delivery of HR functions.
- Partners with manufacturing in labor planning and training.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Leads and supports management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning.
- Identifies training needs for facility positions and employees.
- Familiar with labor negotiations and relations.
Qualifications:
- At least 8 to 10 years' experience administering human resources and/or labor relations management in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior Human Resources Management Experience - (5 to 7 yrs.) * PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Possess accurate and updated knowledge of Federal and State laws applicable to wages, hours, working conditions, safety, labor relations, etc., to ensure compliance with State and Federal legal requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
- Experience developing and driving creative programs to attract and engage employees.
