Position Summary The Warehouse Manager manages day-to-day warehouse functions that include, but are not limited to, managing the processes of asset management, order fulfillment, and coaching and people development. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Ensure timely and accurate deliveries Ensure that all material is received and properly stocked Ensure ordered materials are shipped on time Ensure that wire department processes are followed Promptly and properly handles returned goods. Manage human resources by ensuring safety procedures are followed, completing performance reviews, and ensuring that all proper associate training is completed. Ensure that vehicle fleet is clean and maintained with regular vehicle safety inspections and reports Additional Responsibilities May serve as back up for counter sales at assigned branch. Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts. Complete assigned training in a timely manner. May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process. Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates. Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to read and write with basic math skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Advanced understanding of warehouse procedures. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and time-management skills. Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and ERP systems Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED 1 year of experience with Mayer, or 1 year of warehouse experience in the electrical distribution industry Desired Qualifications: Some college Two or more years of warehouse management experience. Forklift operation experience Other Work Environment: The Warehouse Manager works in a warehouse or loading dock area, as well as an office setting. May drive forklifts or operate pallet jacks. The associate may be exposed to fumes, odors, and/or dust. Temperatures in the work environment may vary between cold and hot depending upon the season. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk throughout warehouse and access storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs. Travel Requirements: Overnight travel may be required on occasion to attend training.
