Apply today!Position Summary The VAS Associate manages inventory and deliveries for Mayer’s value-added services. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Check pulled material against the shipping ticket for accuracy and assure orders are complete. Pack material to prevent items from being damaged during shipment. Label all cartons and/or pallets correctly and stage material in proper bin/area to ensure the material is delivered to the correct location and/or customer. Review tickets containing pipe and wire to be sure the items are highlighted and recorded on the pipe/wire lest so they can be pulled, loaded, and delivered. Review all delivery tickets to ensure that all orders are delivered to the proper address including any special instructions, I.e. delivery times. May deliver material to customer. Interact professionally with the customer and handle any complaints or issues in a timely manner. Additional Responsibilities Actively participate in and contribute to Mayer’s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts. Complete assigned training in a timely manner. May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process. Demonstrate commitment to Mayer’s core values and vision to be First Choice with our suppliers, customers, and associates. Complete all other appropriate tasks or duties assigned by supervisor. Required Skills/Abilities Ability to read and write. Basic math skills Ability to accurately pull the correct items. Basic understanding of warehouse procedures. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving and time-management skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team. Basic computer skills. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GEDDesired Qualifications: Some college education One to two years of warehouse experience. Forklift operation experience Other Work Environment: The VAS Associate works in a warehouse or loading dock area. May drive forklifts or operate pallet jacks. The associate may be exposed to fumes, odors, and/or dust. Temperatures in the work environment may vary between cold and hot depending upon the season. Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk throughout warehouse and access storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, bending, and reaching. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs., and push and pull up to 300 lbs.
