What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at Maysteel Industries LLC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
To setup machinery and fabricate conforming sheet metal parts in a safe manner, utilizing standard methods/procedures, while meeting or exceeding production requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures and work with supervision to ensure that all hazardous or unsafe conditions are corrected immediately.
2. Store, maintain, select, preset, operate, adjust and inspect all tools, dies and measuring devices, etc. Recommend reconditioning or replacement as necessary.
3. Establish and maintain all necessary machine settings and make adjustments, such as speeds, feeds, pressure etc. to machine and gauges to ensure conforming parts are being fabricated.
4. Use precision measuring instruments/equipment to read and work from blueprints, sketches, processing templates, process sheets to verify conformance to specifications.
5. Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces.
6. Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks as required.
7. Keep equipment, work area and facility in a clean and orderly condition at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
· Knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press and/or punch operations including basic set up is desired. MUST BE ABLE TO SET UP MACHINE
· Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools in accordance with ISO 9001
· Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
· Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.
· Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
· Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.
· Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed.
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet expectations.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Ability to lift 35lbs and over.
· Proper use of all PPE as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.50 per hour
