Description
Mayvin is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support the Office of Security Programs within the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). The Personnel Security Specialist will be an adjudicator supporting initial investigations and reinvestigations for the federal background investigation process.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to undergo and pass a background investigation (BI)
Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate the results of OPM, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other investigative agency reports to determine the employment, suitability, and or security eligibility of individuals for eligibility with the USMS
- Summarize investigative issues on the adjudicator's worksheet, recommending approval/disapproval and noting pertinent suitability, security, and mitigating factors.
- Corroborate or mitigate serious derogatory information
- Determine if additional inquiries are necessary to resolve discrepant, negative, or contradictory information
- Analyze responses from letters and make final recommendations based on suitability and security criteria
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience as a security clearance adjudicator
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- A demonstrated history of completed National Security Adjudicator training. The training should include but is not limited to, the defined 13 National Adjudicative Guidelines, Identification of applicable Executive Orders, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and governing policies, a comprehensive review of the national security process and the role/responsibilities of the adjudicator, plus demonstrated knowledge of the investigative process and product, whole person concept, requirements for adverse determinations, issue resolution, risk mitigation and procedures for appeals
