What You Do
Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of engineering at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation.
As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:
- Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
- Collaborate with international team members from Mazda and Toyota or, other customers
- Manage internal logistics operations/functions through development, implementation and, reporting of Key Performance Indicators to operational officers and members
- Create area strategy relative to manufacturing customer requirements and external logistics functional requirements
- Maintain key focus on Floor side management of Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Material Conveyance
- Daily coordination and logistics with On-Site suppliers as well as, On-site Logistics Support suppliers
- Support GL – TL level professional and personal development
- Ensure that company policies, practices, standards and programs are consistently administered
- Promote a diverse work environment
- Develop a strong working relationship with the production team at all levels to ensure great communications and understanding of both floor side and plant issues
- Direct staff to ensure the production goals are met while maintaining or enhancing Safety and Quality
- Support internal logistics Obeya Project Management
- Manage new model development and raw material usage tracking systems
- Project leader for Logistics Technology
- Strategic planning/project management and implementation
- Support Internal Logistics with management priorities through Hoshin development to ensure strong process and results through KPI tracking
- Support the development of internal logistics delivery processes and equipment to ensure the best efficiency of delivery with cyclic repeatability, shortest lead-time, highest cubic efficiency, and flexibility to meet customer needs
- Promptly identify and analyze logistics process related problems through root cause analysis and countermeasure development
- Develop and implement efficient team member focused process control systems
- Be available to work OT and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
- Be available to outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in engineering, operations management, or technical field; or equivalent experience.
- Internal Logistics operations experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience problem solving techniques through root cause analysis and countermeasure development
- KPI development and management proficiency
- Supervisory experience (Team Member leadership and development experience with emphasis placed on leading and developing TM’s, coaching and assessing work, problem breakdown, GAP, and countermeasure identification)
- Experience in Microsoft office suite; Acad or other design tools; e-Kanban based delivery instruction tools/systems
