MBDA Inc. is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor. This is a great opportunity for a high-performing individual to join MBDA’s Huntsville, Alabama, Team!
SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor holds a critical role for the production program. This role provides direct supervision to second shift assembly and test teams. A successful candidate will lead by example, create a cohesive environment and motivate/inspire others to excel in their roles.
This position is Monday through Thursday 4:00 pm to 2:30 am (10-hour shift with a 30 minute meal break x 4 times per week).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct supervision to all assembly and test technicians and functions as lead assembler
- Responsible for assembly and test cell adherence to daily production schedule rates based on production schedule
- Verifies and approves appropriate time charges against projects and time-off requests
- Coordinates coverage for overtime needs; deconflicts vacation schedules with team to ensure production schedules are not impacted
- Accumulates and reports daily metric date to the Production Engineer
- Works to build a cohesive team and strengthen their performance
- Provides feedback and analysis on team member performance
- Works closely with Production Engineer to improve processes
- Ensures all assembly team members enter data properly into ERP system
EXPERIENCE
- “Certified in soldering”, Trained in Electronic Wiring techniques
- Mechanical Assembly techniques, ESD certified
- Extensive knowledge of field; performs assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- Ability to supervise and coach employees to perform at a satisfactory level.
- Plans and executes on own work.
- Uses judgment within limits of standard practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires High School Degree plus specialized training
- minimum of 6 years of experience in test and troubleshooting complex electrical/mechanical systems
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Department of Defense Security Clearance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIORNMENT
- This position requires full-time employment and willingness to work extra hours as required.
- In the performance of essential duties, requires mental alertness, keen vision, and fitness to meet requirements.
- Must be manually dexterous with both hands
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds; two-person lifting is preferred for safety and reduces the 40-pound lifting requirement
- May be required to work in an environment with explosive material as well as other hazardous materials as classified by the US DoT.
