POSITION OVERVIEW
This Category Analyst is a resource to provide in-depth analysis to determine category strategy and opportunities. The successful candidate will assist the category management team in the development and execution of category and brand growth stories, category reviews, shelving and modular plans, provide market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques. This role specifically supports the development and implementation of National category and shopper strategies and initiatives. This position will support the Category Manager II in all functions of the category management process.
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide detailed category and brand insight. Regular business performance reporting and tracking. Assist with development and implementation of assortment, merchandising and pricing recommendation at the national level. Category Team analytical & administrative support (Business reviews, database management, etc.). Provide market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques. Engages directly with internal teams on category presentations. HQ Category focus vs. customer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field
Experience in a Sales, Marketing or Analyst role
Must have demonstrated skills working on projects and analytic analysis, including brand insight and category planogram design
Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and organization skills, project a professional image, and interact effectively with all levels within the organization
Interest and ability to relocate as necessary
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to analyze and understand the data and then effectively communicate those insights to both internal and external audiences

CPG environment experience
Direct customer experience
Category/ Insights experience
Experience utilizing data: POS, Retailer Specific, Panel, and other consumer-based data providers
