DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team Leader, makes mechanical adjustments, lubricates machinery, diagnoses and corrects mechanical and basic electrical problems, fabricates parts as required, repairs
and/or overhauls in-plant equipment, performs work in other areas as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in all maintenance crafts to include electrical, plumbing, mechanics (mechanical) hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machine shop, and millwright and carpentry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to closely interact with co-workers in and outside of the Maintenance Department.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
- Experience in repair and troubleshooting of HVAC and general building maintenance required.
- Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and correct problems of a varied nature on a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Physical requirements require candidate to continuously lift weight up to 35 lbs., frequently lift 50-75 lbs. and occasionally lift 76 to 100 lbs. and must be able to become a certified fork truck operator.
- Must be agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, go up and down ladders to reach various equipment.
- Ability to work overtime daily and on weekends as required and to have flexibility with shift hours is required. Overtime on weekends may be paid in straight time, according to the given schedule. Work schedule may not reflect a typical Monday through Friday regimen.
- Ability to work up to heights of 45 ft. on material handling equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal technical training desired.
- PLC and electrical experience desired.
- Experience with boilers, chillers and air compressors is desirable.
- Experience with new equipment installations is desirable.
- Food processing equipment experience desirable
