Senior Manager, GIS Services

Overview

McCormick Taylor is seeking a motivated Senior Manager of GIS Services to join our growing team.  This position will consist of leading a highly skilled team of GIS professionals to achieve program, project, and business development goals.  The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 12 years of experience, be able to work within a team environment and have a desire to grow and strengthen our GIS Services. Responsibilities

Business Development 

• Establish a Vision for the GIS Group including technical growth, staff structure and infrastructure 
• Develop and implement a Business Plan that includes growth goals (revenue, staff, wins); report on goals and track progress quarterly/re-assess annually 
• Complete client research and development 
• Lead GIS marketing meetings, support other discipline marketing efforts 
• Establish and manage client relationships 

• Establish and manage partner relationships 
• Leadership and coordination on proposals as GIS discipline lead 

Staff Management 

• Performance reviews and staff development 
• Lead Staff meetings supported by Manager 

• Oversee, coordinate and complete workload projections 

Project Management 

• QA/QC Submittals, Invoices, Client communications 
• Monitor project budgets /staffing needs 
• Coordination and oversight to develop project deliverables 

• Mentor and teach staff 

GIS Platform Administration 

• Advise on ArcGIS Server Maintenance  
• Advise on ArcGIS Online Maintenance  

IT Support/Coordination 

• Coordinate with IT and advise on ArcGIS issues for GIS users in the company 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years’ professional experience  
• Minimum of five years professional experience managing staff 
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, GIS or related field 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills   
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills 
• Detailed understanding of Esri and open-source GIS technologies 
• Familiarity with GIS industry standards and infrastructure configurations
