What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper Full-Time 8a-4:30p Assisted Living position at McCrite Plaza?
Job Summary: The Housekeeper / Laundry’s primary function is to provide any combination of cleaning duties to ensure the facility is clean and sanitized. Duties range from making beds, washing clothes and linens, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming.
Hours: 8:00 am- 4:30 pm Monday-Friday to include some weekends.

Essential Functions / Duties:
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy; empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas.
- Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
- Identify and report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations.
- Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
- Keep storage areas and wheeled carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy; must adhere to regulations with regards to chemicals (i.e. locked storage).
- Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other housekeeping supplies.
- Make any necessary linen changes.
- Prevent the spread of infection through proper handling, storage, washing, and transporting of all garments and linens.
- Operate, load, and remove articles into washers and dryers; operate an automated laundry solution dispensing system (mix and add detergents, bleaches, starches, or other solutions as directed); place garments and linens in drum of washer; correctly adjust water temperature and wash cycle for the type of linen being washed, as required; transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer; clean machine filters.
- Sort and remove articles from washers and dryers; hang, fold, and stack garments and linens; distribute clothes to resident’s rooms without error.
- Return clean linen to linen closets and mobile racks to ensure adequate supply is available for use at all times; report any garments or linens in ill repair to social services.
- Work cooperatively with residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and staff.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Operate computers programmed with software needed to record, store, and analyze resident information; operate copy/fax/printer machines to send documents and produce documents.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.

Education and Experiences: Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not a requirement of the position. Must be at least 16 years of age if working in a full-time position and free of all communicable diseases.
