What We’re Looking For: Our rapidly expanding national consumer rights law firm is seeking an attorney working remotely to specialize in arbitrations. The successful candidate will have experience as a litigator, negotiator, and case manager.
The Legal Assistant plays a vital role in supporting attorneys and paralegals in the assigned practice group by undertaking a variety of confidential responsibilities, administrative tasks, and clerical duties in accordance with established procedures. The position involves answering phone calls and greeting clients, contributing to fact-checking and compiling case evidence and maintaining communication with internal and external contacts. Working under the supervision of an attorney, the Legal Assistant will handle confidential responsibilities to provide comprehensive support in assigned legal cases.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Open assigned practice area cases on the case management system and assigning them to the team.
· Gather facts from clients to enter into the case management system.
· Calendar litigation deadlines, court appearances, and maintain trial calendar.
· Working knowledge of state and federal court formatting and filing rules, including e-filing.
· Preparation of legal and administrative documents.
· Provide administrative support in the case management system.
· Draft correspondence to client.
· Ensure communications are relayed accurately and timely to the team and clients.
· Copy, distribute, send anything that needs to go electronically and/or via mail, courier or express service.
· Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
· Maintain an organized working area and files.
· Perform all other duties as assigned by the attorney(s).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Work experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or entry level paralegal.
· Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system.
· Working knowledge of case management software.
· Excellent secretarial and organizational skills.
· Computerized information and database record-keeping systems.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
· At least three years related experience. Paralegal certificate will be considered in lieu of experience.
· Associated degree is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and advanced computer skills with programs, applications, and other software and databases.
· Exposure to programs such as TimeSheets, Hona and Litify.
· Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to collaborate with different teams, practice areas, and individuals.
· Excels in diverse work environments.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Pay range for this position:
- $21.00 to $26.00 per hour, DOE
