Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsibilities include assisting with direction of all Health, Safety & Environmental Field activities in a specific Area, generation of reports as directed by the Project HSE Manager. Individual will assist in the development of site I-care program.
- May function as acting Project HSE Manager when the Manager is on leave or otherwise not available.
- Provides technical support to safety studies, health assessment studies, and project risk assessments.
- Coordinates appropriate consideration of safety requirements with subcontracts, engineering, and construction personnel as assigned.
- Provides safety technical support and assistance to projects and coordinates safety requirements and formulation of risk reduction measures with project-assigned safety personnel, engineering, construction and onsite
- HSE representatives during construction.
- Participates in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety requirements that may affect project design, schedule, and cost.
- Drafts comprehensive ES&H plans, project specific risk reduction plans, safety awareness training programs, and technical reports.
- Provides recommendations and input for revising safety procedures, work processes, and other quality improvement measures.
- Conducts safety inspections/assessments of project construction activities to monitor compliance with applicable safety and health requirements including contractual commitments, permits, and the projects ES&H plan.
- When in supervisory role, implements personnel policies (e.g., conducts employee performance evaluations) and provides technical direction to staff.
Basic Qualification:
- A minimum of 8 years of EPC related experience, 10-15 years of Project experience, 10-15 years HSE experience.
- Specialized knowledge in a safety specialty (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment, lockout/tagout, fall protection, excavation, I-CARE) or engineering (e.g., civil, process safety, mechanical) or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies. Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies permitting processes and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
- Skilled in oral and written communication and knowledge of computer applications.
