Job Description
Global Technology Risk Management (GTRM) is the team that is ultimately responsible for the securing of McDonald’s information assets at a global level. This role will directly manage the group within GTRM that is responsible for our cybersecurity architecture vision and strategy, ensuring our technology products and services are protected against current industry threats.
The Director of Cybersecurity Architecture must set high-level strategy and direction for those performing these daily activities and clear expectations, goals, and requirements that must be obtained as a measure of success. This position will work closely with cybersecurity experts, Global Technology teams, suppliers, and business leaders to define cybersecurity controls that protect McDonald’s assets and critical technology.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and lead a global team of cybersecurity architects.
- Partner with our front-end digital channel development teams (mobile, web, etc.), back-end platform development teams (POS, eCommerce Platform, etc.), and security service delivery teams to review integration and drive security control alignment.
- Create and maintain documentation pertaining to integrated security controls, activity flows, data protection, authentication/authorization, etc.
- Work with segment CIOs and market IT teams to create and maintain blueprints of all McDonald’s proprietary systems as well as SaaS solutions provided by vendors deployed in the McDonald’s Markets.
- Partner with segment CIOs in order to provide guidance and recommendations on evolving system architecture and implications of any new integrations.
- Assess the current state of segment technology landscape and create a “North Star” blueprint with the global architecture team to guide future state developments
- Identify new technology products or services that are required to support the ongoing business drivers.
- Translate the technical roadmap to senior business leadership to help them better understand how security threats and control technology will affect their business objectives.
- Develop playbooks for the integrated deployment of cybersecurity solutions to meet common business needs.
- Set architecture standards across multiple business units and establish a blueprint for what security systems will be needed to support each business unit.
- Conduct high-level compliance reviews and provide course correction when necessary.
Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields. Preference will be given to an MBA from an accredited university along with an undergraduate degree in technical area.
- 3 years of senior leadership (Sr. Manager or Director) experience with IT Security management.
- 5 years of professional experience in Application Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Architecture
Desired skills:
- Experienced in key compliance and IT frameworks such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), GDPR, CCPA, Sarbanes-Oxley, SAS-70s, HIPAA, ISO27001.
- Familiarity with complex multinational companies and distributed business models.
- Experience and willingness to lead a 24x7x365 team and work non regular hours.
- Aptitude to assemble and clearly present technical information to both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to interpret and understand business needs and convey such issues to information security teams.
- Proficient in technical writing and demonstrating various creative mechanisms to communicate to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrable ability to quickly identify project objectives and define optimal project approach to align security controls with overall program success.
