The Director of Product Management for Literacy, K-5 influentially leads cross-functional teams in the work to accomplish this. This includes connections across portfolios to intervention and supplemental products as well as the platform roadmap.

How can you make an impact?
As a Director of Product Management for Literacy, K-5 you will partner with the Vice President of Product Management for Literacy to understand our overall market strategy and set the vision for your product line(s). Specifically, the Director of Product Management drives the roadmap and prioritization of the elementary core program and its derivatives from inception throughout its product lifecycle, continually incorporating the voice of the customer.
We are transforming our product approach, and we need you to determine how we plan for future market needs in an innovative, digital-first elementary program. We are seeking a product leader to define the Grades K-5 Literacy product and delivery based on market research, testing, and feedback. You will be responsible for conceptualizing a digital-first solution leveraging current platform roadmap capabilities, imagining new technologies to fulfill the product plan, and informing future platform strategy across the business. Working closely with the other Literacy Product Managers, you co-develop and communicate a strategy for your product line cross-functional teammates and then drive your strategy forward to achieve positive business outcomes. What can you expect from the position?
- You will define the Grades K-5 Literacy products and delivery based on market research, testing, and feedback. You have experience conceptualizing a digital-first solution leveraging current platform roadmap capabilities, and new technologies needed to fulfill a product plan. You understand the elementary classroom implementation of an ELA program across all mediums for delivery (print & digital). You think about the product line beyond the current state to inform future product & platform strategy three to five years from now.
- You understand all aspects of the business -product, sales, PMO, marketing, executive- to influence a matrixed organization that is a powerful force for great products.
- You are passionate and comfortable sharing your vision with everyone you meet in every way possible. You are a domain expert in product management and your product line.
- You own the product portfolio, so you will take the vision and translate it into a strategy for success, then drive the execution of that strategy and the measurements of its success with a cross-functional team. You provide thought leadership for your product line, particularly around instructional practices and digital transformation.
- Facilitate ongoing research to identify effective investments and support product leadership in evaluating new ventures and opportunities within your product space. You conduct your own intelligence and look outside the industry for solutions that can be adapted to solve your product's market and customer needs.
- Clearly articulate the business case for new products, extending a product line, or enhancing an existing offering.
- Manage overall financial and product performance, manage a profitable P&L, and develop a strategic business plan for your product line. Review sales trends, history, usage trends, and assumptions and adapts product strategies and tactics.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of education platform strategy and how to align and optimize products within it. You can clearly articulate differentiators and drive the realization of those needs with agile development teams to influence the product's design and authoring.
- Act as a mentor and set an example of strong product leadership that depicts the vision of the School Product Group unified across product & platform.
- You identify product development synergies and connections within and across portfolios.
- Define and prioritize product requirements, serve as an internal/external spokesperson, participate in go-to-market strategy, support the product launch, and continuously monitor product performance, the competitive environment, and market changes.
- Experience with pan-product digital assessment that is built into a common platform for content delivery, placement, monitoring, and feedback. You translate its use into specificity for your product line.
- Implement market/customer-driven requirements for useful Customer Reporting: Time, Activities, Learning, etc.
- Experience in agile software development.
- Lead cross-functional groups in solution design, concept development, and decision-making on a component array.
- Lead planning for field tests, pilots, product submission strategy for RFPs and distract/state sales campaigns.
- Support rubrics and proposals, as well as resolve queries and cases related to product enhancements/revisions or sensitive issues.
- You have highly effective communication skills and can develop and deliver powerful presentations or reports to get your point across at all levels of the organization.
We're looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Education technology experience is strongly preferred.
- You are a strong product leader. This role requires someone who has experience working in various product frameworks and can bring solid processes and tools to the table. We would
- prefer 7 years of experience in product management including time managing the full product lifecycle of a blended digital & print product line.
- You can manage a diverse product portfolio! The literacy portfolio includes industry-leading print curricula with digital products to support that experience. You understand and nurture all aspects of your product line. You are knowledgeable about software product management and have experience managing digital solutions.
- You are a strong business communicator. You can connect and communicate with all internal teams (marketing, design, sales, project management, academic leaders, instructional designers, engineering, executive leadership, and more).
- You are an empathetic human being. You can connect/communicate/empathize with our educators, administrators, and our students. You possess the voice of the customer and are solutions oriented.
- You know when to be strategic and when to be tactical. You understand that there is a time to focus on the details, and you can also redirect teams to the strategic vision or goals for the product. You use influence to execute product plans and the end-to-end process in a remote daily work environment.
- You are not afraid of RFPs, Sales representatives, or financial spreadsheets. Although you have incredible support from our friends in finance, marketing, and project management, you need to be comfortable working in a multi-million-dollar P&L to understand your product investment plans and determining product strategy.

The pay range for this position is between $150,000- $165,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
