Meat Cutter Overview
Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for cutting all meat in accordance with trim specifications and guidelines. Ensures the quality and freshness of the meat products cut for display in the meat case to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Responsible for providing excellent customer service and courtesy on an on-going basis. Must adhere to all corporate and state sanitation and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Consistently work within to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Responsible for smiling, making eye contact, and thanking customers upon fulfilling customers request.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, at all times.
- Responsible for cutting and preparing meat using knives, saws, cubers and grinders.
- Responsible for ensuring proper wrapping, weighing and labeling of meat merchandise.
- Responsible for adhering to all corporate Meat Department procedures and standards. (i.e.: case layout and trim specifications)
- Responsible for adhering to proper sanitation and temperature guidelines. (i.e.: to include corporate and state inspection standards).
- Responsible for receiving all meat products delivered at store location.
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a cutting test.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and write at the 8th grade level.
- At least 6-12 months of experience.
Physical requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and climbing.
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
- Frequent lifting from waist to shoulders of up to 80 pounds.
- Occasional lifting from floor to overhead of up to 60 pounds.
- Occasionally carry and lift from floor to waist of up to 100 pounds.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of up to 70 pounds.
- Constant exposure to cool environment.
- Ability to work in a store environment.
