The Field Sales Director for Compile will be directly responsible for developing, managing, and growing our Compile business within McKesson's Medical-Surgical (MMS) business unit. This person will be responsible for delivering critical subscription and revenue growth to the MMS P&L. This leader must be equally focused on providing exceptional value to our existing customers every day, driving strong renewal rates and identifying new customers or markets to enter to expand. S/he will nurture existing customers to drive business growth, retention, and advocacy, and will also be responsible for new business development. S/he will be expected to create and lead a comprehensive strategy comprised of both traditional growth levers, as well as those that challenge conventional wisdom and push us to new heights and drive to execution.
In this role you will be helping to expand our reach across the market by selling specifically to the life sciences and Bio-tech client base. You'll run the entire new business sales cycle; your outbound effort will be complemented by inbound leads generated by marketing support as you research prospective customers, develop outreach strategies, identify prospects, pitch to decision makers, and close business. Key Responsibilities
There are numerous business processes for this position. These processes include, but not limited to, the account planning process, the sales forecasting and funnel process, the pricing and contracting process, the sales development process from idea generation & client problem/question through the offer development, negotiation and deal close, and the implementation of the Plan of Action.
Given the nature of these clients it is essential that the Sales Director possesses a strong executive presence and cultivates relationships across the client organization including the client c-suite.
Additional responsibilities:
Managing/organizing day to day activities of your territory
Serves as the high-level client contact
Proactively builds deeper strategic relationships at higher levels within the accounts, e.g., C-suite level contacts
Frequently monitors and reports activity against territory plan
Partner with Marketing and leadership to refine and enhance our client go-to-market strategy.
Build and nurture relationships with prospects and key stake holders in the life sciences and bio-tech industry to identify opportunities and secure new business
Manage all facets of entire sales cycle for assigned clients
Conduct product and services presentations & demonstrations
Close new business consistently at or above quota level
Accurately forecast opportunities and update the CRM
Demonstrates enthusiasm, drive, rigor and a sense of urgency when managing assigned territory.
Keeps on top of changes and trends in the marketplace and how these trends impact the business.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/ life science industry in the following areas: sales, marketing consulting, data analytics, and managed care, including at least 5 years of client facing roles.
Demonstrated ability in building relationships and generating new business revenue with large pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Ideal Experience / Critical Skills
Proven experience leading a portfolio business with demonstrated success building strategic plans that accelerate top and bottom-line growth for a large business segment.
Develop strategy and business development to accelerate growth
Track record of developing and operationalizing strategic initiatives that directly drive substantial portfolio growth in areas of strategy and business development. Success in doing so through collaboration, complex problem solving, and influence with all areas of a business to ensure alignment and positive results.
Education
Education - Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline required, advanced degree highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
General office demands
Must have the ability to travel. High amount of overnight travel is required as well as frequent air travel.
Location
Prefer candidate to be based in a major metro market. Work is primarily in home or office at McKesson location.
