The Senior Decision Science Manager will develop and support innovative advanced analytic solutions focusing on the McKesson Medical Surgical (MMS) business unit. Our growing team develops enterprise solutions on the foundations of data democratization, scale and automation. This position will provide thought leadership and serve as the conduit between business stakeholders and McKesson data scientists and engineers. The candidate will possess the ability to provide a wholistic approach to data science solutions producing scalable solutions for measurable business impact.
Primary objectives and responsibilities:
- Accelerate utilization of data science products through a deep understanding of MMS data landscape
- Collaborate with senior data scientists and engineers to develop and implement end-to-end data-driven solutions that support business goals.
- Work with large and complex data sets, performing data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using tools such as Python, R, SQL, and/or Scala. * *
- Exploratory analytics in support of machine learning model builds, analyzing data and generating insights.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and inform business objectives to deliver solutions that drive key initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in data science and technology, and apply this knowledge to improve our data-driven solutions.
Other Responsibilities
- Understand and anticipate stakeholders' analytic needs, gather user requirements, help drive adoption.
- Assist in developing and maintaining long-term stakeholder relationships and networks.
Experience: 5 years is data analytics and 1-2 years of exposure to data science or engineering, or equivalent academic experience Minimum Requirements: BA or BS degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
Critical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and/or Scala.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning.
- Experience with data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using tools such as Pandas, NumPy, and/or Spark.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data, identify patterns, and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Passion for learning and applying new technologies and techniques.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
