About the Position:
A rare opening for a position as a Training Specialist in a Software Company located in Birmingham, Alabama. The Company offers a great working environment with a small office atmosphere, great benefits, and a liberal Holiday/Vacation package. The appropriate candidate will provide assistance to the Client Services Team for implementation and support of the Company’s flagship products, with a specific focus on software training and documentation. This position requires someone to have a strong technical background along with good interpersonal skills. Software training/presentation skills are a must.
Required Skills
- 3 years Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating systems.
- 3 years MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
- 3 years of leading online training using (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Go To Meeting, Webex, etc.)
- 2 years Software Training Experience Preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong communication/presentation skills
- Strong ability to learn and communicate in simply easy to understand terminology
- Ability to travel approximately 25-30% of the time
Preferred Skills
- Creating, recording, editing video content (experience with screen capturing and editing software: e.g., Articulate, Premier Pro, Snag It, Captivate, Tango)
- Creating and deploying email notifications (e.g., Outlook, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, etc.)
- The ability to be flexible with schedule and project priority changes.
- The ability to be creative when designing, developing, and leading training projects.
- Have initiative to solve problems and find best use of time, especially when unsupervised.
- The ability to lead small, medium and large groups in live in-person meeting/training sessions.
- Planning, coordinating, and leading live user group meetings and recording the sessions for future playback.
- Planning, coordinating, and leading live release webinars and recording the sessions for future playback.
- Planning, coordinating, and leading live podcast sessions and recording the sessions for future playback.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information System (MIS), or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
