This position will be stationed in Washington, D.C. area.
Position Summary
The Sr. Operations Research Analyst will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). The role requires the Analyst to develop and follow methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. This position will work with a dedicated team in support of SEVP program while working with a wide variety of stakeholders to achieve operational success.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze policy, regulations, and directives to provide recommended improvements to SEVP leadership
- Gather, review, and analyze key business metrics (including KPIs, financial reports, etc.)
- Understanding of risk management and risk management tools
- Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to elicit information and propose strategies and process improvements
- Conduct organizational studies and evaluations
- Design systems and procedures, conduct work simplification and measurement studies
- Prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively
- Ability to review, synthesize, and prepare highly technical, sensitive, and complex documents, briefing materials, management directives, and correspondence
- Identify current and future problems and use analysis to determine a helpful course of action
- Provide input or may prepare reports based on the analysis of collected and processed data
- Develop meeting and briefing materials, including agendas, meeting minutes, talking points, and presentations
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability and be clearable to Secret clearance or higher
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience AND five (5) years of working with a fee-funded organization
- Understanding of risk management and risk management tools
- Experience with business requirements gathering analysis and evaluation and translating high level business requirements into user stories
- Provide exceptional organizational skills to project work and project management
- Ability to multitask, balance competing priorities and deadlines, and work in a complex and dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Active security clearance.
- Relevant experience in direct support of DHS.
