The Bartender at the Hilton Garden Inn Solomons provides customized beverage service to each of the hotel’s restaurant / bar customers in a friendly, energetic, accurate, and timely manner.

Responsible for assuring the guest is having a great time and / or relaxing while at the bar while adhering to the federal and state laws of alcohol safety and lawful practices.

Our bartenders are passionate about their craft, giving excellent guest service, can communicate effectively, as well as multitask.

We are currently looking for a candidate who will be able to accommodate three to four nights a week.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar area
• Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce
• Maintain accurate inventory of all beer, wine, and spirits and
• Requisition order for beer, wine, and spirits when necessary
• Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
• Promote and document orders for drinks
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice portion control
• Attend monthly departmental meetings
• Input orders accurately into POS and create a check for each guest
• Receive cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are accurately and properly executed, in order to balance all monies
• Lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank at end of shift as needed
• Sanitize and clean in and around the bar area
• Maintain an organized bar and liquor room
• Put deliveries away in proper locations
• Assist in maintaining the organization of the kitchen
• Work effectively and efficiently with the service and kitchen teams
• Communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to supervisors and managers
• Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers, and management
• Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work
• Other duties as assigned not to exceed the scope of the food and bar service industry

Requirements :

• Positive and outgoing attitude
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
• Self starter
• Legal ability to serve alcohol in the State
• Have reliable transportation
• Knowledge of state and local guidelines regarding service of alcohol
• Knowledge of drink preparation, previous bartender experience preferred
• Computational skills to process guest payment
• Ability to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 pounds regularly
• Detail oriented
• High energy and interpersonal skills
