Shipping Administrative Clerk
McStarlite Company, manufacturer of large, complex sheet metal parts for the aerospace industry, is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Shipping Clerk to join our team!
** This is an administrative/clerical role. Only candidates with clerical experience will be considered. **
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Obtains and processes product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the company.
- Schedules large shipments and plans logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments.
- Keeps files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.
- Handles issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
- Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and works to resolve them.
- Practices customer service when interacting with other companies and clients and see to it all external parties receive a positive interaction with the company.
- Verifies all incoming shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to order and ensuring all goods are in acceptable condition.
- Prepares detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensures all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent
- Associates Degree with a Business Administration focus preferred; or 2-3 years administrative experience in a manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Shift:
6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (with overtime opportunities)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
