The Senior Associate Director of Prospect Development will play a crucial role in advancing our mission through prospect management and analytics. This position will drive the identification, management and analysis of prospect pools, while assisting to optimize portfolios and performance across the operation to maximize fundraising efforts.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Leadership and Project Management (45%)
Drive execution of strategic plans and lead decision making around stakeholder relationships, special projects and initiatives and the orchestration of strategic approaches. Continuously capture and collect significant data points, execute on deliverables with precision, develop actionable strategies and allocate appropriate resources to execute work functions. Serve as a coach, mentor and sponsor, enabling others to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.
· Lead Prospect Management Program
o Perform routine maintenance and audit of prospect data and prospect assignments; monitor data integrity to report key metrics for fundraising performance.
o Oversee prospect management functions, including goal setting, quarterly forecasting meetings and ongoing strategy meetings.
o Manage the ongoing monitoring of fundraising activity for continuity and compliance with the Prospect Management guidelines and processes. Regularly report on information regarding fundraising progress/activity and interpret information to advise leaders on fundraising performance.
o Communicate and train gift officers on prospect management guidelines to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
o Assist in creating and developing tools and reports to support the prospect management function.
o Provide oversight and management of prospect management data in fundraising CRM.
Programmatic Project Execution (35%)
Consistently deliver skillful execution of team-specific work with an eye toward continuous improvement, while being aware of the impact of the team’s work on and in partnership with others.
· Analyze and Forecast Prospect Pool Trends
o Monitor the prospect pool, provide insightful forecasts, and deliver relevant analyses to optimize portfolio performance.
o Interpret prospect and portfolio reports that support division metrics and goals in partnership with gift officers and leadership
Perception and Attentiveness (20%)
Accurately assess interests, organize and present information in thoughtful and engaging ways, constantly shifting between multiple activities and sources of information, maintain situational awareness, cultural awareness, institutional awareness and adeptly navigate cross-functional teams in support of team and division plans.
· Implement Solutions
o Collaborate with gift officers, fundraising leadership, and other internal partners to analyze and interpret prospect data.
o Craft and implement innovative solutions - processes and reporting - that will address moves management, fundraising strategies, and fundraising performance.
· Stakeholder Engagement and Project Management
o Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and provide clear direction and communication regarding prospect management activities
o Effectively plan and manage various projects related to prospect management functions
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE
Required: Six or more years of experience in fundraising/non-profit, government agency, marketing, advertising, or public relations, law, healthcare or related industry. Demonstrated experience synthesizing complex information and engaging stakeholders in complex strategy discussions. Two years of supervisory experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred: Six or more years of experience in prospect development in a major/transformational gifts environment. Advanced knowledge of research techniques, tools and methodologies, and analytical skills needed to develop data-driven approaches to fundraising leadership. Experience with Power BI, Salesforce and SQL.
