Our Cancer Network Research department is seeking a Program/Project Manager to join their team. The Program Manager will work remotely 100% in an environment where every day is different. You will have the opportunity to grow and learn new skills sets.
SUMMARY
Guides the design, implementation, and evaluation of various research projects. Functions include providing support in areas such as quality improvement, research education and research related projects.
KEY FUNCTIONS
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
· Define project/program scope for new research projects or programs
· Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and associated communications documents.
· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables; develop and deliver progress reports during the research project life cycle.
· Set and continually manage research project expectations; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the research team or program; identify and manage related issues
· Effectively manage multi-disciplinary, multi-investigator research projects by collecting research data, developing project related documents, and updating project status reports/tracking systems.
· Leverage project management tool set to enable project execution.
· Develop, track, and analyze project key performance indicators including the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
COMMUNICATION
· Communicate project expectations clearly and timely, to team members and management.
· Establish and maintain comprehensive project documentation, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
· Take initiative to share ideas and identify opportunities for improvement and assist with departmental strategic and long-range planning.
· Organize and lead regular project team meetings to drive progress, track and mitigate risks, resolve roadblocks, and review action items.
· Fosters relationships with external entities, including academia, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries; maintains current relationships and establishes new relationships with entities that can contribute to the objectives of the program.
· Identify, understand, and effectively communicate the needs and concerns of both MD Anderson's senior management and team members as well as external client leadership and team members. This can include business, clinical, and research content.
· Act as liaison across the Institution for clients as well as across the Cancer Network.
· Responsible for achieving educational objectives and maintaining Cancer Network Research goal alignment.
EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT

· Create and implement quality related educational initiatives.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree
Preferred: Master's degree
Experience
Required: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience in clinical research, which may include management of specific clinical trials or clinical trials-related programs. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.
Preferred: Eight years of program management experience including clinical research, and three years of responsible management experience.
