Summary
Administration of oral sedation, reviewing patient's paperwork, including questionnaire and hospital information to ensure patient's readiness for technologists and radiologists to perform exam and by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Count meds in MRI in the A.M. and P.M. Check O2 and crash carts and fire extinguishers once a month.
Administers oral sedation under Radiologist supervision.
Assist Radiologist & Technologist with intravenous sedation (conscious sedation) exams.
Assists in codes.
Greet patients in waiting rooms, get paperwork and give it to techs. If patient has any questions, concerns, or any history they would like to talk about please instruct them to ask or tell the technologist before they start the exam.
Take patient to dressing room and instruct them on what to do. Prepare exam table and room for scan if tech needs help. Set up for injection so the technologist can administer the IV.
After patient is finished with exam, instruct them on where to go and help them upstairs or elevator if needed. If you are taking them to another department make sure you give them a robe to wear. Make sure gowns, pants, and supplies are stocked.
Responsible for moving wheelchairs that are left in waiting room and hallways.
Check for empty film cartridge, and for films in the processor room. Date all films and deliver to appropriate areas. Also, number all CT films. Check for jackets in Medical Records and deliver to all stations.
Take clip board upstairs, and assist technologist and radiologists with stat codes.
Help pick up and clean exam rooms and any other areas as needed.
Set up table for MRI Techs with correct coil if tech needs assistance.

Education and/or Experience
Certificate as a medical assistant.
Language Skills
