SUMMARY
Manages all routes in assigned area. The Route Supervisor for the Distribution Department is responsible for the training, evaluating, motivating and supervising route sales persons as they distribute dairy products to customers.
Work Schedule Requirements: Must be available all shifts; to include nights, weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides administrative and on-the-job training for all new route sales persons in all aspects of the job.
- Evaluates all existing route sales persons to determine if company policies and programs are being maintained.
- Sets example for route sales persons by their appearance, punctuality, leadership and attitude towards the company and customers.
- Maintains high level of familiarity with all routes and customers.
- Stays informed of all programs, policies and product changes in regard to routes and communicates to staff.
- Fulfills departmental requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or personal leave.
- Assist in other areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS*

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
- DOT Standard Regulations.
- Minimum 3-5 years route sales experience
- Must be available all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

May require lifting dairy products of 50lbs. max or 25 lbs. frequently. Frequently climbing up in and stepping down from truck /tractor trailer. Requires reaching and handling dairy products to customers, and office personnel; and listens to customers for daily orders and instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
May require delivery and selling of dairy products to customers, often in inclement weather, spending over 50% of working time outdoors. Generally, works in the field with his RSR’s and completes required office responsibilities upon returning to the branch. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
