Responsibilities

• Previous experience in posting/allocating payments per EOB’s to patient accounts for commercial, contract, and government payers
• Experience in large balances/payments within a hospital or physician setting highly preferred
• Must be able to interpret EOB’s, and identify and reconcile unapplied account balances where necessary
• Posts payments (including zero pays) received from third-party payers and patients through electronic remittances, online payment portal, and patient payments.
• Posts insurance adjustments to accounts receivable as documented from payers. Additionally, is responsible for posting administrative adjustments as approved.
• Identify, resolve, and escalate major issues and service failures that impede success.
• Accurately post corrective entries within department mandated time frame
• Analyze third-party payments, adjustments, and denials for appropriateness raising concerns and/or questions in a timely manner so that further reimbursement analysis may be initiated.
• Reconcile all electronic postings for applicable Payors.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately

Qualifications

• Previous experience with medical billing systems (eClinical a plus)
• Three plus years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in revenue cycle management.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
• Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to accept change
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
• Professional demeanor required

Experience

• Medical Billing: 3 years preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.17 - $20.91 per hour
