What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class A Driver position at Mead Lumber?
Mead Lumber Company is a leading provider of products to professional contractors, construction builders and remodelers. Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver manufactured and finished goods to customer jobsites and to unload the materials to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all
- Load trucks according to the list of materials on the sales
- Organize and secure each
- Responsible for accuracy of loads and must get all loads verified by yard manager for accuracy prior to leaving yard.
- Delivers and unloads materials to customer’s
- Follow directions and make deliveries on a timely
- Maintain inspection of each vehicle you drive for safe
- Record delivery information on sales invoice and relay messages from customers on
- Safely drive trucks and forklifts obeying all traffic laws, wear seatbelt at all times while driving a company truck or forklift.
- Follow all yard loading and delivery, and yard security
- Capable of navigating digital platforms to include uploading pictures, E-Logs, Online platforms as directed.
- Listen and work with customers to solve customer
- Housekeeping in yard and areas assigned to
- Ability to follow all CDL requirements as outlined by the DOT
- Ability to haul oversized loads
- Desire to learn and grow
- Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and
- Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours
- Ability to operate a computer and
- High School diploma
- Valid Class A driver’s license with Manual Endorsement, current automobile insurance and a good driving record.
- Physical strength to lift and carry 50
- Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch
