AVHS currently has four (4) Registered Nurse (RN) positions open. The open positions are as follows:
1. Full Time Night Shift RN (7:00 pm to 7:00 am)
2. Full Time Day Shift RN (7:00 am to 7:00 pm)
3. Full Time Day Shift Float RN (Float between Pre/Post Op and the Med/Surg Floor) (min 2 shifts a week on the med/surg floor)
4. Full Time Day Shift Float RN (Float between Cardiac Rehab and the Med/Surg Floor) (min 2 shifts a week on the med/surg floor)

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary:
Provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well being of the patient and family. Occasionally assigned to be charge nurse and delegate patient care assignments and duties based on ability of co-workers. Must strive to maintain the standards of nursing and nursing process which include critical thinking, assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manager and evaluate.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Pass NCLEX.
- Current license in the State of Kansas.
- Accumulates 30 CEU's in 2 years to keep nursing license current.
- Maintains certification in advanced levels of ACLS and PALS
- Completes a CPR review satisfactorily every 2 years
Responsibilities of Registered Nurse (RN):
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient's medical treatment.
- Observes emotional stability of patients and expresses interest in their progress and prepares for continuing care after discharge.
- Assists other members of the nursing team and/or other disciplines.
- Assists Providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Arranges for patient's ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Monitors medical condition of the patient and reports changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Direct and Supervise LPNs, CNAs & IAs
- Demonstrates competency and professionalism in performing the overall patient care and supervisory responsibilities of the Registered Nurse position.
- Administers medications
- Adequately assesses and reassesses pain.
- Ensures accuracy of recording patient care documentation meeting current standards policies.
- Performs all aspect of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and privacy.
- Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physician and other healthcare providers.
- Has ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patients response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Plans and directs daily assignments with each team member based on patient acuity, staff qualifications, continuity of care, workload and proper infection control practices.
- Ensures physician's orders are noted and carried out in a timely manner. Make rounds with physicians.
- Has ability to perform a head to toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
