What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Coordinator position at Meadowbrook Manor?
Here at Meadowbrook Manor of Naperville we are looking for an experienced Financial Coordinator to our growing Community of Skilled Nursing facilities.
This person will be working closely with the Admissions Department, various other departments, along with the patient’s family/responsible party. The Financial coordinator/BOM will provide patients with information and assistance in obtaining eligible insurance coverage and monitors the patients' coverage to make sure coverage is maintained.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule meetings with family for any financial obligation within 48 hours of resident admitting to the facility. This includes Medicaid application checklist, income verification, RFMS forms, and Admissions Contract.
- Communicate with the AR Specialist at the Support Office for any insurance information.
- Work with A/R Specialist on Private Pay Collections.
- Provide patients with information on their insurance coverage.
- Attend necessary meetings such as Medicare meeting, Morning Meeting, and/or Triple Check Meetings.
- Prepare and Scan deposits regularly.
- Verify/run Medicare and Medicaid eligibility monthly for all in house.
- Verify Secondary supplemental policy- send insurance verification form to Managed Care.
- Review and distribute mail.
- Send Monthly Census to all vendors.
- Review Hospice Election Forms.
- Maintain Trust fund in RFMS, cash box, and process trust fund check requests.
- Review resident accounts and aging report on an ongoing basis and report any inconsistencies.
A successful candidate for this position will have:
- Two years of experience with collections, insurance verifications and Medicaid for Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Good organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
- Ability to quickly establish professional relationships with patients/families who are in difficult situations in a compassionate manner.
- Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to operate a facsimile, copy machines, computers and other common office machines, with working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and other software appropriate to positions.
- Knowledge in Point Click Care a plus
- Candidate must be available for Manager on Duty rotation for weekends and holidays
