This position supervises and coordinates activities of the warehouse such as preparation and kitting of internal and external customer orders to ensure on time delivery, timely receipt of incoming material, co-ordination of Material Handling activities to ensure production on time delivery to jobs and Warehouse transfers of materials to other locations. Inventory control is a prime responsibility of this position to ensuring material inventory
accuracy and controls are maintained through daily cycle counts and year end
physical inventory activities. Oversees all the Export Compliance for U.S. shipments.
This includes, but not limited to a working knowledge of ITAR and EAR
regulations, understanding of the AES system and how to process EEI’s, ability
to understand and complete Shipper’s Letter of Instructions (SLI), understand
Incoterm implications, understand how to use the HTS US and assign correct US
tariff numbers, and the ability to review US import entry packets to ensure
correctness. This position has Direct reports including Material Handlers Interaction with several departments including Finance, Configuration Management, Planning, Engineering, Quality, IT, Legal & Compliance, Engineering and the entire
Operations team on a regular basis as required. Duties & Responsibilities: Working within assigned goals and objectives, key duties, relationships, responsibilities and objectives will include: ·
Supervises and assist with all warehouse activities·
Oversees shipping Compliance, including Dangerous Goods, D.O.T, Import/Export and ITAR Compliance.·
Manages U.S exports to the other Med-Eng facilities in Canada.·
Manages US imports from either Med-Eng Canada, or other imports·
Establishes operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and
outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping
warehouse inventory current.·
Daily order review to ensure inventory availability and works closely with Logistics
for preparation and kitting of Customer orders·
Supervises material handling operations and ensuring efficient and accurate work order kitting to production·
Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed by inspecting the physical
condition of the warehouse and equipment ·
Performs cycle counts and investigates discrepancies·
Works with other Operations group to ensure coordination of warehouse activities such
as production, sales order, customer service, intercompany transfers,
procurement, internal shipping requisition and purchasing.·
Work with various other departments on the reduction and disposition of reserved and
aged inventory.·
The incumbent works very closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure accurate
material usage on Bills of Materials as well as Planning and Configuration
Management groups to ensure material changes and material·
Qualifications: ·
Post-Secondary consisting of Material Management and / Inventory Control diploma would be an asset.·
In addition to strong computer skills, above average ERP experience is
necessary. Experience with ERP implementation and being a Super User to train others for new ERP would be considered an asset·
A minimum of 5 years warehouse and supervisory experience·
Minimum of 3 years export/import compliance experience would be an asset·
Forklift certified·
A strong Health & Safety background and good understanding of the Occupational
Health and Safety Act.·
Dangerous Goods Certified would be an asset.
