Job Title: Quality Inspector
Reports To: Quality Manager
Summary: Responsible for inspecting received material, work-in-progress and finished products to ensure conformance with product requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects and determines compliance of first piece, in-process and finished products to customer and work order specifications using drawings, job routers, manual and automated inspection gages and equipment and visual standards for dimensional and cosmetic acceptance.
- Completes inspection records, checklists, and other work order documents.
- Identifies and segregates non-conforming product, and promptly identifies problems or discrepancies to supervision.
- Accurately fill out Shop Traveler, inspection sheets and any other related documentation.
- Utilize measurement equipment such as CMM, Keyence, Micro Vu, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and functional gauges for completion of inspections.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic math skills are needed to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to understand complex written, oral and diagrammatical instructions to perform usual responsibilities in a timely manner
- Ability to problem solve when instructions are incomplete
- Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to read micrometers, calipers, Micro Vu, comparators, etc.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Previous medical inspection experience
- Ability to work with little direct supervision
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
