Essential duties and responsibilities:
Under the Supervising Nurse’s direct supervision and Physician Orders, the Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) are responsible for providing high quality care to infants, children, and adolescents in the homecare setting to include:
- Conducting Nursing assessments
- Implementation of physicians’ prescribed nursing plan of care
- Evaluate and report patient outcomes and responses to therapeutic interventions in comparison to benchmarks from evident-based practice
- Administration of prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies that may include the use, care and maintenance of Gastrostomy tubes, supplemental oxygen, nebulizer treatments and/or BiPAP/CPAP/ventilator machines and/or g-button
- Completion of clinical documentation of care provided in EMR System timely
- Teaching and training of family members
- Receiving and writing verbal orders from physicians
- Care Coordination with physician, client, family member, other nurses assigned to case and RN Supervisor for client concerns, and/or changes in client’s condition
Requirements:
- Must have and maintain an active Texas Nursing license (RN / LVN)
- Current CPR certification
- TB skin test
- Prior hands-on nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Must have reliable transportation, Texas Driver’s license and auto liability insurance
PRECEPTORSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM: · MedCare Pediatric Nursing offers a precentorship program to train nurses in all aspects of Pediatric Home Health Nursing by an experienced Registered Nurse (RN).
