What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Proofreader position at Media.Monks?
Now, about the opportunity: In the Senior Proofreader/Copy Editor role you would help us ensure that we send out error-free and on-brand communications for our clients. This is a role where you’ll partner with our creative team—copywriters, designers, and production artists, as well as other seasoned proofreaders—to hone your chops on communications for some of today’s top brands.
Our ideal candidate is a grammar guru who enjoys working on a variety of projects, is passionate about hunting down typos and ensuring clarity, and works fast and flexibly to get the job done. In this role you will:
- Ensure error-free and on-brand email campaigns, landing pages, case studies, presentation decks, and more
- Catch typos, quell disagreements between subjects and verbs, and help misplaced modifiers find their proper homes
- Create and maintain editorial style guides
- Work quickly and balance various, shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment—all while maintaining a strong attention to detail and quality
- Function as a project or account lead as needed
- Foster an environment that focuses on knowledge sharing and group participation
Experience you already have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an agency or in-house environment on B2B and/or B2C communications
- BA degree (English or Writing preferable)
- Proficiency in both AP and Chicago styles, with the ability to switch between the two seamlessly
- Great communication skills and experience collaborating through shared documents
- Experience using Google tools such as Gmail, Docs, and Slides—and the drive to learn new tools and techniques as needed
