About the role Exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit legal and compliance team in the fast moving Media industry as a corporate counsel reporting to the EVP of Legal Services. The company has a long history at the forefront of the media technology industry and the legal department prides itself on a deep knowledge of the customer base, technical environment and commercial models of both the company and its customers. This role will suit a contracts generalist who prides themselves on commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills. As a full service legal department there is a wide range of additional areas which may provide variety to the right candidate, such as IP creation, IP claims management, HR, facilities, but these are not a requirement for the role. What you’ll do The primary focus of the role will be on commercial contracts with customers and suppliers, covering a range of different business models (from traditional capex/opex models, to subscription, SaaS, Managed applications and potentially managed services). The candidate will manage the legal aspects of a variety of contracts from NDA’s, RFI’s, RFP’s, Frame Contracts and Sourcing contracts. The candidate will also provide support to Order Desk and Sourcing with general queries about terms, purchase orders and related paperwork. The successful candidate will also: Support a fast-moving, international sales team in the media technology industryPartner with business colleagues to understand business prioritiesDraft, review, and analyze agreements for commercial activitiesProvide legal support on commercial transactionsStructure, negotiate, and draft customer, vendor, and technology agreementsAdvise business partners on commercial risk and legal implications of contracts and commercial transactionsEnsure compliance to applicable laws and regulations Qualifications Strong negotiating and drafting skills in complex corporate and commercial agreementsFlexible working style that is highly adaptable to an environment in constant flux with competing and unpredictable prioritiesAbility to balance legal and business risks appropriatelyDemonstrated ability to think strategically and to identify and resolve legal issues, using sound judgement and practical approachesAbility to work both independently and as a full and valuable member of an integrated business-legal teamHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently and within tight deadlinesMinimum 5 years of legal experienceHighly analytical and detail orientedStrong oral and written communication and negotiation and influencing skills Additional Qualifications J.D. (Juris Doctor) from a recognized law school and admission to at least one state bar required or a qualified solicitor.
