Introduction to the Department and Internship
This Contract Management Intern will work within Medica's Enterprise Sourcing & Contract Negotiation team and will assist in selecting the right vendor relationships that deliver optimal cost, quality, and value to Medica.
Our Enterprise Sourcing & Contract Negotiation team is responsible for strategic sourcing and negotiations across the organization. Contract Managers partner with business stakeholders to understand business needs and serve as strategic partners.
We develop and execute competitive events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and negotiate and execute commercial agreements with optimal pricing, best-in-class service level performance guidelines, Medica-preferred terms and conditions, and risk mitigation strategies.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Assisting with the development of competitive events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) to support a business/sourcing strategy through coordinating and managing RFP activities, milestones, documents and dependencies in conjunction with the lead Enterprise Sourcing Negotiator
- Supporting a contract database integration project where you will participate in the development of an integration strategy and the execution of that strategy to meet the project goals and objectives, participate in scope review and reporting milestones to team leaders
Interns will have the opportunity to acquire and strengthen project management skills (i.e. project scope, schedules, dependencies and deliverables), and will utilize effective communication and collaboration skills to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior working towards an undergrad degree in business administration or related field; grad students are also encouraged to apply
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills
- Relevant experience with software such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Performance-driven individual who demonstrates strong initiative with attention to detail
This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the designated office - Minnetonka, MN - for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
