SUMMARY:
The Production Planner will plan, schedule, implement, and monitor operational activities to ensure contract requirements, product specifications, and deadlines are met. In this role, you will coordinate production/schedule plans with:
- Purchasing: to ensure materials are sourced, supply chain strategy or dist. channel followed for quality/cost efficiency
- Production Management: to ensure capacity, labor utilization, and daily/weekly/monthly goals are met
- Engineering: to minimize quality risks, design changes, or regulatory issues affecting schedules.
- Sales/Marketing: to ensure order or contract fulfillment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None. But this position requires a high degree of Interpersonal and communication skills to interact within all levels of the organization and the ability to exercise judgement and independence to change sequence of operations or solve complex problems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews contract specifications, drawings, sales orders, and related documents to create Production Schedules and Work Orders for shopfloor in a timely and efficient manner. Use of Job Boss ERP system to create schedules/work orders.
- Coordinate the availability of materials and supplies to work centers.
- To manufacture within applicable Quality and Regulatory standards, you will monitor and assist Operations to ensure capacity, labor allocation, and material quantity/quality.
- Identifies and Monitors sales forecasts, projections, trends, and risks to minimize schedule interruptions.
REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Strong and Experienced knowledge with ERP/MRP Planning Systems required; Job Boss ERP extremely helpful.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years’ experience in Production Planning, Control, Scheduling, or Expediting is needed; Medical Device Contract Manufacturing or other regulated industry experience preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related degree; Degree not required if you possess equivalent related work experience.
