Position Summary
The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst role is to gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Responsible for writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. Will assist in mentoring junior level team members and be used as a subject matter expert when needed by IT/Dev/PMO colleagues. Will handle large-scale business initiatives from the QA perspective and represent the team in project meetings.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration and/or 3 years equivalent work experience
- 2 years of experience in a previous QA role
- Experience with T-SQL required
- Knowledge of core software applications.
- Knowledge of business workflows and processes.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Business Application Trainer or Teaching background would be a plus.
- Experience with statistical reporting and analysis would be a plus
- Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures would be a plus.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language would be a plus.
