Job Description
Medtrans Ambulance is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EMS professional to join our Operations Department as an EMS Training Coordinator. This role offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your EMS expertise and expand your skills by developing and delivering training programs for our ambulance field employees. The EMS Training Coordinator will collaborate with the Operations Manager to maintain comprehensive training documentation and oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives related to training, patient care reports, and field operations policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Training Delivery: Present and implement Medtrans Ambulance’s operational and educational processes and procedures in compliance with company standards and county regulations.
- Program Management: Oversee both classroom and field training programs for new and existing ambulance personnel.
- Instruction and Evaluation: Instruct, demonstrate skills, and evaluate ambulance staff in all aspects of patient care.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all training activities.
- Course Assignment: Manage the assignment of training courses to employees, ensuring appropriate training pathways.
- Performance Standards: Oversee Patient Care Reports (PCR) and Electronic Patient Care Reporting (EPCR) performance standards, ensuring adherence to on-time performance requirements.
- Process Improvement: Enhance current processes for managing, monitoring, and assessing overdue training.
- Compliance: Ensure that new EMS providers comply with company training guidelines and standards.
- Audits and Evaluations: Conduct audits, provide critiques, and perform field evaluations of ambulance personnel and dispatch operations.
- Performance Improvement: Proactively identify and document opportunities for performance improvement.
- Training Compliance: Provide necessary training and education to ensure employee compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Collaboration: Assist departments in defining training requirements and establishing timelines for completion.
- Certification Management: Obtain any additional licenses or training required to meet evolving training standards.
- Completion Monitoring: Track training completion rates and notify managers upon employees’ successful completion of training programs.
- Communication: Maintain positive and cooperative communication with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors, demonstrating a strong customer service orientation.
- Career Development: Collaborate with the Director of Operations to support continuing education and career development initiatives for staff.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in EMS.
- Education: Higher education is preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Los Angeles County’s educational processes for EMTs and/or paramedics.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR instructor certification preferred.
- Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching roles such as Field Training Officer (FTO), Supervisor, or Educator.
Skills:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
License/Certification:
- Required: Los Angeles County EMT or Paramedic certification.
Job Type: Part-time, Full-time
Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
