Main Purpose:
Design, plan and conduct analytical method development, qualification, transfer and testing activities to support development and release of dialysis related products. This position works in collaboration with a global team on development and verification activities. Main duties include providing analytical support for evaluation and quantifying of chemicals utilized in the dialysis related products. This position works independently in the laboratory and provides a certain amount of direction to the analytical team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Recognized expert, managing large projects or processes.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager.
- Contributes to defining the direction for processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results.
- May manage large projects or processes that span outside of immediate job area
- Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation
- Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and/or makes moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area
- Work independently to develop analytical test methods for the characterization of the various Renal Care Solution products.
- Develop, qualify, validate and potentially transfer test methods using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation to meet project requirements, milestones and deadlines
- Develop, qualify and validate laboratory equipment and procedures
- Lead in writing protocols and procedures and other controlled documents
- May negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery.
- Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques.
- Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
Qualifications & Experience
- Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
- Experience with analytical method development and validation
- Experience with a range of analytical techniques, instrumentation and software such as gas (GC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ion chromatography, spectroscopy (infrared and UV-VIS), water analysis; etc
- Experienced with mass spectrometry; GC-MS and LC-MS-MS
- Experienced in raw material testing per compendial guidelines
- Experienced in forced degradation of drug substance/drug product; protocols, study execution and analysis
- Advanced knowledge of GLP, GMP and/or ISO regulations and experience working in a regulated environmen
