The Senior Principal Data Analyst should possess extensive knowledge and experience in the methodology and process of scientific exploration, as well as technology development for medical devices. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$152,000.00 - $228,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:
- Lead and oversee complex data analysis projects within the Research and Technology department, from inception to completion.
- Develop and implement data models and analytical methodologies to support early-stage research and technology development.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, and clinicians, to understand and address emerging clinical problems.
- Interpret and present analytical findings to senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear and actionable insights.
- Conduct data analytics for clinical trials, ensuring robust analysis and interpretation of trial data to guide research and development decisions.
- Mentor and guide junior data analysts, fostering their development and enhancing their analytical skills.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data throughout the analysis process.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data analysis tools and techniques, applying this knowledge to drive innovation in early-stage research.
- Apply business acumen to make informed trade-off decisions between time-to-market, product costs, reliability, features, and budget constraints.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
SR PRINCIPAL LEVEL:
- Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience in the commercialization of medical devices, from opportunity definition to market launch, including partnership development with clinicians, vendors, and key external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex clinical issues into actionable insights through front-line experiences (ORs, clinics, field) and customer discovery processes.
- Experience in setting up and running animal studies, clinical research studies, and clinical trials across multiple locations.
- At least 3 years of experience in determining impactful clinical needs that meet the strategic and organizational goals of the unit.
- 8-10 years of experience working in a matrix management structure
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate collaboration across geographies.

- Qualifications:
- Degrees in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields are highly preferred.
