As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will provide site focused leadership and is accountable for overall consistent material supply and supply metrics for the Active Implantables and Pumps (AIP) Operations Network.

A Day in the Life
In this role, you will
Lead a global team of Sourcing Operation Specialists responsible for Raw Material Purchasing performance requirements starting with known material requirement through product sunset.
Facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic’s position in terms of quality, response time, risk and total cost.
Mitigate risk, leverage technology and purchase power and improves processes and systems.
Provide project management and sourcing expertise to functional team and cross-functional teams.
Provide extensive leadership/interface with functional leaders and sites to assure clear alignment and support to enable success in meeting all goals, objectives, product developments, product manufacturing and product launches.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering (or related degree) and at least 5 years of supply management, project management, or engineering experience in a multi-plant, matrix organization.
Experience in leading and influencing negotiations, project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving analysis, strategic thinking and collaborative team building.
Previous experience in leadership role within a multi-plant, matrix organization
Experience in leading, coaching and performance management of direct reports to drive attainment of organization and individual goals
Solid knowledge of procurement/planning principles, regulations, theories and processes.
Expert understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems
Must have knowledge of industry terminology, processes, work-flow and materials.
Knowledge of supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials and inventory control environment
Project Management and Six-Sigma Methodologies
Knowledge of FDA regulated industries
Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication skills
