What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Planner position at Meggitt?
The Master Planner BCS, under limited supervision, performs routine tasks in coordinating new customer orders, existing customer delivery schedules, and finished product shipments. Plans and prepares manufacturing production schedules and departmental workflows. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Planning and Control.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Forwards new orders not promised against existing available promise to schedule and coordinates delivery with Production Control.
- Makes additions to master schedule, expedited delivery, special requirements and replacement components.
- Maintains customer delivery dates in line with customer requirements, and master production schedule.
- Allocates inventory to customer shipments and coordinates special requirements, and inspections.
- Performs various administrative tasks related to document recordkeeping.
- Monitors and analyzes demand, in-hand inventories and capacities to design attainable supply plans to drive supply to plan attainment.
- Champions the use of the ERP system as the primary tool to plan and schedule production.
- Collaborates with Operations and Customer Service to confirm planned delivery dates for sales orders.
- Maintains updated master data elements and assumptions related to supply planning.
- Actively communicates with leadership to identify challenges and opportunities related to the attainment of the master supply plans.
- Manages capacities in a way that supports the agreed upon business and customer priorities. Interacts with other functions to expedite critical orders as needed.
- Generates reports to provide visibility of the production order status and track performance.
Job Specifications
Education: Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field.
Certifications: APICS, CPIM and/or CSCP preferred
Years’ Experience: 2 years or more of relevant experience
Skills:
- Prior key user experience of an ERP system, preferably SAP/HANA.
- Able to apply a systematic disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Advanced proficiency of MS Office tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as required (<25%).
