Senior Buyer Position Summary

In this role you will be responsible the purchasing of all raw materials, supplies, and general materials for existing product lines.  This position will also develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, create purchase orders, maintain effective pricing information, negotiate terms, expedite orders, and ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing and planning materials, components, and services consistent with specified levels of quality, delivery, price, and total cost 
• Perform required purchasing tasks to procure assigned parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services required for operation of business
• Contact suppliers, obtain, and evaluate quotes, place orders, and ensure timely delivery 
• Advise manager in a timely manner of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements or of any other problems that may delay production, after exhausting all means within limits of delegated authority to solve such problems
• Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve

Qualifications

Senior Buyer Position Requirements:

• Associates Degree in a related field
• 5 years of experience in a buyer role
• 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills

Senior Buyer Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• APICS Certification
• Experience in the medical industry
