What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Melone Hatley?
We are looking for an attorney who has a passion for helping people who are going through divorce and custody battles. We fight to protect our client’s family, finances, and futures. We’re looking for an attorney who can hit the ground running to give our clients outstanding representation. You need to have compassion and the ability to build relationships with your clients and know your way around a courtroom.
Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
Candidates must have passed the bar exam
Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
