What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Secretary/Receptionist position at Melvin S. McWilliams PC?
Ideally looked for someone who can work from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday-25 hours per week, performing the following:
- Document preparation, including contracts, pleadings, deeds, wills & trusts, and such other documents required by the my clients.
- Answering the phone, screening calls, interacting with potential clients, scheduling consultations, explaining and collecting consultation fees
- Assistance with research and pleading and brief preparation;
- Typing and transcription of dictation;
- Litigation support, including scheduling hearings, depositions, client and witness interviews;
- Filing and clerical assistance;
- Maintaining the attorney calendar;
- Ordering Supplies
- Assisting in the development and implementation of office legal systems, e.g., probate;
- Support for my firm's monthly billing program, including regular data entry, generating billing letters and statements;
- Use of Word, Excel, QuickBooks, Outlook;
- Occasional travel to area courts or other offices for filing documents;
- Such other services as assigned from time to time.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
- legal secretary: 1 year (Preferred)
