The purpose of the Talent Acquisition Specialist role is to serve as an advisor to management on issues related to the talent acquisition process and procedures as well as meet competitive hiring goals and expectations by utilizing knowledge of multiple sources and strategies. This position ensures timely availability of highly qualified applicants to meet staffing needs of the credit union and help create high levels of morale and satisfaction among associates. The role requires to attract applicants by participating in hiring events and by placing employment advertisements, and utilizing social media, newsgroups, affiliations, networking, and employer sites. The role will source passive candidates and bring creative solutions to fill jobs with speed and quality. The role requires some analysis or research to determine the best solution.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will operate under moderate supervision and will assist in the development of a comprehensive, multicultural talent acquisition strategy to attract and retain outstanding talent. This role will assume responsibility for full cycle talent acquisition, which includes sourcing, screening, testing, interviewing, presenting, conducting background checks and closing qualified candidates. Additionally, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will maintain a database of candidate records, including active and passive prospects. This role will form relationships with internal management teams and will require a high degree of professionalism and credibility. The role has no budgetary impact.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resource Management, or general and business knowledge equivalent to an associate degree in Business
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a Recruiter or in Talent Acquisition
SKILLS:
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, collaboration and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with social media, job boards, applicant tracking systems and HR databases
- Proven experience conducting various types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, in-person)
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience recruiting in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws governing employment and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
