We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA/QC Technician with a background in civil engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or have recently graduated with a relevant degree. As a QA/QC Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our geotechnical construction projects by conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations. Your knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes, attention to detail, and ability to interpret engineering specifications will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control procedures and protocols.
- Perform inspections and tests on geotechnical construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct field and laboratory tests on soil and rock samples, including compaction tests, moisture content tests, and grain size analysis.
- Interpret test results and provide recommendations for adjustments or improvements as necessary.
- Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure understanding and compliance with quality requirements.
- Monitor and document construction activities, including material deliveries, workmanship, and equipment performance.
- Conduct visual inspections of construction sites to identify deficiencies, non-compliance, and safety hazards.
- Assist in the coordination and review of subcontractor and supplier quality control documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare quality control reports and documentation, including daily logs, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities.
- Assist in the review and approval of shop drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
- Participate in quality control meetings and communicate with project teams to ensure alignment and resolve quality-related issues.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to geotechnical construction quality control.
- Collaborate with external agencies and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
- Provide training and guidance to project personnel on quality control procedures and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a QA/QC Technician in civil engineering or geotechnical construction, or recent graduation with a relevant degree.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Relevant certifications or coursework in quality control is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of quality control principles, processes, and techniques in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with geotechnical laboratory testing methods and equipment.
- Knowledge of construction materials and their testing requirements.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct accurate inspections and tests.
- Proficiency in using quality control tools and software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey quality control information effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites as required.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
