Job Summary and Qualifications
The Wound Care RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Meadows Hospital and the Georgia Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the Health Care Team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates treatment plans. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, patient education, administration of medications as ordered by physician, via oral, IM, SQ, or IV route. The RN will document on nurses notes, medication, and patient education records.
What you will do in this role:
- Accurately assesses and measures wounds using correct techniques.
- Accurately identifies and records drainage, fibrin, odor, wound grad and stage, and wound outcome.
- Performs ankle/brachial index and toe/brachial index (ABI/TBI) utilizing appropriate methods and equipment.
- Performs compression wraps using essential steps of application.
- Performs negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) as ordered.
- Collaborates with Clinical Coordinator, Program Director and Medical Director to develop, implement and manage a continuous Performance Improvement Program (PIP).
What qualifications you will need:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- 1 year experience in a related role is required
- Basic Wound Care course
